In
the year 2001 a book entitled ‘Children’s Literature and the Foreign
Language Classroom’, edited by PhDr Milena Vodičková,
was published as an output of a project sponsored by the Ministry of Education.
As the title suggests, the publication deals with the usage of children’s
literature (fairy stories, poems, nursery rhymes etc) in English lessons. It is
essentially a collection of lesson plans prepared by our students as part of
their teaching practice. The book is in English. We would be happy to provide a
copy, free of payment, to any basic school; all you need to do is write to us
and ask.

9 April 2003 – pictures and an account of the involvement of our third year students in a show consisting of performances of stories from children’s literature.
2nd December 2003 - 3 p.m. Gwyneth Fox, author of the Macmillan English Dictionary,gave a lecture on lexicology and lexicography in our department in room 49.
